Bloomsburg Field Hockey Downs IUP in Overtime

INDIANA, PA--Venessa Witman (Oley/Oley Valley) scored her second goal of the game 2:23 into overtime to lift the Bloomsburg University field hockey team to a 2-1 victory over Indiana (PA).
In a battle of two of the top-ranked teams in the country, the Huskies (#1) and Indiana (#4) battled through a scoreless first half of play with IUP holding a 10-8 edge in shots.
The Indians broke into the scoring column first with a goal from Liz Marosky in the 40th minute of play. The Huskies tied the score 21 minutes later when Witman scored her first goal off a Tara Bourke assist (Hopatcong, NJ/Pope John XXIII).
After regulation play ended with the score tied at 1-1, Witman hit the back of the cage just 2:23 into the extra session helping Bloomsburg stay unbeaten at 5-0, 3-0 in the PSAC. IUP falls to 1-3, 0-2 in the PSAC with the loss.
Bloomsburg visits Millersville on Saturday in a noon start.
